The Milwaukee County Boat Launch on Bruce Street and South Water Street is the only public boat launch between McKinley Marina and South Shore Park. Hundreds of boats launch from there every year, including emergency response vessels.

Milwaukee Harbor District’s Water and Land Use Plan identified this location as a catalytic project. In 2025, Harbor District BID #51 and the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program funded the Milwaukee Harbor District to reimagine this space. This central site has the potential to become much more than just a boat launch—it could become a vibrant public waterfront destination and one of the best places to see the Hoan Bridge!
